Computer is a programmable machine that accepts the information and makes the work easy and efficient. It responds to a specific set of instructions in a well defined manner. It can execute prerecorded instructions. Today’s modern computers are electronic and digital. Computer is made up of various parts. Some of the parts of computer can actually touch like, disks, monitor, keyboard, etc. Some of its part cannot be touch like, memory storage. In this modern world you can use different types of computer. If you use a desktop computer, you might already know that there isn't any single part called the "computer." A computer is really a system of many parts working together. The physical parts, which you can see and touch, are collectively called hardware. On the other hand software is the list of instructions and programs.
On the different side a laptop computer has similar parts but combines them into a single notebook-sized package. Take a look of all parts of computer.
System unit – System unit is the core of computer system. The most important component is the central processing unit (CPU). It acts like a brain of computer. It is usually a rectangular box placed on your desk. Another component is random access memory (RAM), which temporarily stores information that the CPU uses while the computer is on. The information stored in RAM is erased when the computer is turned off.
Storage – Computer has more derives that store information on a metal or plastic disk. This disk preserves the information even when your computer is turned off. Those drives are CD drive and Floppy disk drive.
Mouse – Mouse is a small external device to point and to select items on your computer screen. It comes out in various shapes. Today’s modern mice are wireless. Mouse usually has two clicks. Right click and left click. Many mice have a wheel between two buttons to scroll any page on computer screen. When you move mouse with your hand, the pointer will move in the direction of your hand.
Monitor– Monitor displays information in visual form using text and graphics. The display size of monitor is called screen like TV.
• Speaker – Speakers are external device used to play sounds.
• Printer – Printer is an electronic device that transfers any soft copy into hard copy by printing on a paper. It can be both text and graphics.
